Saudi Arabia achieves a new leap in the volume of poultry meat production during the first half of 2024
Saudi Arabia achieved a new leap in the volume of poultry meat production during the first half of 2024, recording a record of 558 million kilograms, representing an increase of 9 percent, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to 511 million kilograms.
The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained that implementing biosecurity measures in poultry projects, and encouraging the use of modern technologies in production processes, contributed to developing the poultry sector and increasing local production.
The Agricultural Development Fund's funding for companies and institutions wishing to expand in the poultry production industry reaches about 70 percent of the investment cost when using modern technologies.
The ministry confirmed that the Kingdom is making progress in increasing self-sufficiency rates in poultry meat, and is working according to an expansion plan that aims to pump new investments into the sector, to increase production capacity, contribute to achieving national food security, enhance local content, and provide new job opportunities.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture aims to achieve complete self-sufficiency in poultry products, and provides government facilities, support packages and loans through the Agricultural Development Fund, in order to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Ministry recently offered 27 investment opportunities in poultry projects through the electronic “Nama” platform, on areas of 90 dunums for each plot of agricultural land in the Najran region (southern Saudi Arabia), with the aim of raising self-sufficiency rates in poultry products, and contributing to achieving food security.
The Ministry explained that the opportunity is available to the business sector, individuals, and voluntary associations, by applying for agricultural land plots offered for rent through the approved agricultural plans in the Najran region, after fulfilling the conditions, submitting the required documents, and submitting the application via the platform link.
She stressed that the offered investment opportunities aim to enhance agricultural development, encourage investment in the poultry sector, and are an opportunity to raise self-sufficiency rates in poultry products by encouraging farmers to use modern technologies in production processes. They also contribute to supporting local content and diversifying sources of income in accordance with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
