Minister of Agriculture inaugurates Petra Livestock Exhibition 2024
The Minister of Agriculture Eng. Khaled Al-Hunaifat inaugurated the activities of the second edition of the Petra Livestock Exhibition 2024, an international exhibition specialized in the livestock sector and interested in displaying the latest technology in animal production in various fields and various medicines, vaccines and equipment.
The opening was attended by the head of the preparatory committee, the head of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, Eng. Ali Abu Nuqta, the head of the Arab Society for Animal Resources Sciences in the Union of Arab Agricultural Engineers, Eng. Muhammad Sawalma, the Commissioner of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a number of commercial consuls, official Arab delegations, members of the Syndicate Council, and local, Arab and international private sector companies.
Al-Hunaifat said that the launch of the activities of the second edition of the exhibition is an event that expresses the available investment opportunity in enhancing and developing the food security system, of which the livestock sector is a foundation.
The head of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, the head of the preparatory committee for the exhibition, Eng. Ali Abu Nuqta, said that this exhibition is a true translation of the lofty royal vision to make Jordan a regional center for food security and provides a real opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge between institutions and companies from different countries of the world.
Abu Nuqta added that the second edition of the Petra Livestock Exhibition is attended by 260 companies and brands representing 35 Arab and international countries, accompanied by a scientific program that includes 25 specialized lectures in beekeeping by researchers and specialized scientists from different countries of the world, and witnesses the opening of the first beekeeping forum in cooperation with the Jordanian Beekeepers Association, 35 scientific lectures are held by scientists, professors and researchers in various fields of livestock.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Society for Animal Resources Sciences in the Federation of Arab Agricultural Engineers, Eng. Mohammad Sawalma, confirmed that the second edition of the exhibition appears to you in a new guise that includes everything new that seizes opportunities for development, artificial intelligence, automation and technology sciences, with an increase in the percentage of reservations exceeding 30% over the first edition in various fields with the participation of more than one company and 250 brands.
In turn, the United Nations Commissioner for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Jordan, Eng. Nabil Assaf, noted the important role played by FAO in strengthening and developing the food security system in countries in general through plans and methodologies to preserve the agricultural sector and strengthen its direct role in development.
The second edition of the Petra Livestock Exhibition 2024 was held the period from 5 to7 September at the Amman International Fair, Airport Road; where more than 250 companies and brands from more than 35 countries around the world participated, accompanied by a scientific program that included more than 25 specialized scientific and technical lectures, and the activities of the first Jordanian Bee Forum was held during the exhibition, which included more than 35 scientific lectures by specialists from different countries of the world.
