The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture revealed that the poultry sector in the Kingdom has achieved high rates of self-sufficiency in table eggs, reaching 100%, witnessing a significant production surplus, contributing to supporting food security in the Kingdom.


The Ministry confirmed in a statement that the Kingdom's production of table eggs reached approximately 8 billion eggs in 2024. These eggs are an essential nutritional component of our daily meals and are also used in the preparation of many basic meals, such as pastries, pies, and various dishes.
The Ministry indicated that strategies and plans aim to raise self-sufficiency rates in the poultry sector by supporting and encouraging investment, providing support and facilities for establishing poultry projects and expanding production to achieve self-sufficiency, as well as localizing the industry and creating national job opportunities. The Ministry noted that it is working to support the table egg sector and its products by adopting policies that support local production, enhance food security, and stimulate investments in the poultry sector. It also seeks to implement global best practices in egg safety and quality and support national farms with modern technologies to ensure increased production efficiency and sustainability in the sector, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to promote self-sufficiency and support national products.
